To get your student’s scores, you can log into either your parent/guardian account or the student account.
Remember: While students can log in and see their scores on their student account, only the parent/guardian account can be used to send scores!
Tip: If you are going to send scores to recipients right after viewing them, log in as the parent/guardian.
In either account, click on the Check Scores button.
You’ll be able to see an entry for each test you’ve taken and for which you have scores.
To see more information, click the plus sign to expand that test.
Click on View Score Report to view a PDF of your full score report that you can open and save for your records.
You can also click View Writing Sample, if you’ve purchased it.
NOTE: SSAT customer service representatives do not have access to student scores.
When Do Schools Get My Scores?
Most scores are released to schools approximately two weeks after we receive the completed test materials in our offices. Be sure to test early enough in the year so that schools will receive your scores by their application deadlines. During the busiest testing months (November-January), it is likely that scoring will require the full two weeks. At other times, scores may be released earlier. If a school is designated as a score recipient before scores are released, the school will receive scores before they are available to the student.
When Do I Get My Scores?
Scores are released to students online (and by mail or FedEx for an additional fee) within two weeks of our receipt of the completed test materials. Allow an additional week for delivery of paper score reports by U.S. first class mail (delivery time varies). Scores are not released by phone. During the busiest testing months (November-January), it is likely that scoring will require the full two weeks. At other times, scores may be released earlier. Please do not contact us before this time to inquire as to score status.
Want to Know Exactly When Your Scores Are Ready?
Score alerts are available via email or text for an additional fee (see fees below). Note: This is not a rush scoring service; scores will still be released on the common release date. Order score alerts via your SSAT account.
- 2016-2017 scores will remain available until 7/31/18.
- You may manage your 2016-17 scores online until 7/31/18.
- Scores for 2015-16 tests are available until 7/31/17.
There are a variety of options for students and families to access SSAT scores. These services may be viewed and ordered directly through your SSAT account.
Online Score Reporting - Free
Using the SSAT account, including adding and/or cancelling scores (cancellations must be requested prior to score release).
Mail Delivery of Score Report - $25
(Allow additional time for delivery; scores are mailed to your home address only - they cannot be mailed to schools)
FedEx Delivery of Score Report - $35 (U.S./Canada) / $65 (International)
(Allow additional time for delivery; scores will be sent to your home address only - they cannot be FedEx delivered to schools)
Score Alert (text or email): $15
Notification via text or email when your scores are released. With this alert, you will receive a text or email that includes your b asic score information the moment it is available! For the full score report, access your account online. This is not a rush scoring service; scores will still be released on the common release date.
Writing Sample (Middle and Upper Level SSATs) - $20
A student's SSAT writing sample is released only to schools to which the score report is sent. For an additional $20 fee, the student's writing sample will also be made available to the student/family online via the SSAT account.
NOTE: Not available for the Elementary Level SSAT.
Hand Scoring - $60
If you are concerned about the accuracy of the computerized scoring or the possibility of student mis-bubbling, you may request that your answer sheet be reviewed by hand. This service can be ordered online through the student’s SSAT account. Please note that it has been our experience that few, if any, hand scores result in a score change. The SSAT is an undisclosed test; consequently, hand scoring service will not provide you with the actual questions or answers that appeared on your test. However, in the event that scores change as a result of hand scoring, revised scores will be uploaded to your account and all requested score recipients. If no change occurs, we will send a letter to that effect. Please allow up to one month for hand scoring results. Tests may only be hand scored within the academic testing year in which they were taken (August 1 - July 31).
Rescore (Middle and Upper Level SSATs) - $25
If you took the wrong level Middle or Upper Level SSAT (was scored at the wrong grade), you may ask to have your test re-scored to more accurately reflect your abilities. To request a rescore to a different grade level, please order online through your SSAT account. Please allow up to two weeks for rescoring. Tests may only be re-scored within the academic testing year in which they were taken (August 1 - July 31).
Please note: Once a rescore has been ordered, the original (invalid) score report will be deleted. Rescoring can be performed on Middle Level tests for grades 5-7 only, and on Upper Level for grades 8-11 only. Tests will not be rescored between grade levels 7 and 8. The Elementary Level test cannot be rescored.
Important information regarding scores:
- Scores are available online via the SSAT account within two weeks following receipt of testing materials.
- Score recipients may be designated at registration, or you may wait until you have received your scores to select recipient schools.
- Score recipients may be added and removed free of charge using your SSAT account. Score recipient removal must be completed prior to score release.
